This morning I ran the Saint George half marathon. For some reason I was pretty nervous about running it. You expect sunny and warm weather in St. G, but it was cold and rainy. Despite the weather, it was still a lot of fun. My first half marathon I ran in 2 hours and 9 minutes, and it was all down hill (Provo Canyon). This one I ran in 1 hour 59 minutes, and it wasn't all down hill. We started and finished in the same spot. I'm glad I ran it.

Losing Weight
In March of 2011 I weighed in at 262 pounds. That is the most I can remember weighing. I had just returned home from a weekend fishing trip with a customer from work and had eaten too much food, leaving me feeling very blase. This picture shows the progression (or regression) over the next 8 months. It was an unbelievably great feeling to hit the 200 mark again. I can remember only once since high school weighing less then 200 pounds. For the past couple months I've stayed between 200 and 205 pounds. My goal is to eventually hit 189 (wrestled at this weight my Junior year of high school).

13.1 on the Treadmill
Did a half marathon on the treadmill this morning. This was the first time going that far on the treadmill. Watched a basketball game in the process. There is a half marathon in Saint George in two weeks that I'd like to do if the schedule allows. This let me know I can still do one. Today I did it in 2 hours 10 minutes. That's the same time I did the Halloween Half in. I'd like to think I can get under 2 hours.

A year without Diet Coke!
It's been a year! Last January I determined to give up caffeine. Shortly after I decided to give up carbonated drinks for the rest of the year. Diet Coke was my personal addiction. I drank way to much of it. Still crave it at times, but I've done it. I won't promise to myself that I won't drink carbonated drinks again, but it will be a while before I allow myself to do so.
